World Cup Course
The track for the Audi FIS Women's World Cup 2012 was designed as a combination of the legendary Corviglia and Engiadina runs of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships of 2003. Apart from its challenging sections (White Drop/world's steepest Start and Cliff), the line follows the attractive men's track, albeit with slightly eased curves and jumps.
Downhill
The Downhill Start is the original Women's Downhill Start at 2,745 m, which however lies on the actual Corviglia run, at the Men's Combination Start. The course leads over sliding sections as well as fast and long curves via Munt Murezzan, Suvretta Ridge, Lanigiro, Mauritius, Wall, Precipice along the cliff, over the attractive Rominger and Larch Jumps and into the Finish atop Salastrains, at 2,040 m. This fast run on wavy terrain will be a formidable skiing challenge to the women racers.
Super-Combination Slalom
The Slalom with its Start atop the Rominger Jump, at 2,180 m, and a slightly extended Finish on Salastrains, at 2,030 m, will revive impressions of the Combination Slalom at the World Championship of 2003. The repositioned Finish line takes the athletes even closer to the spectators.
